Family Class Services:
Whether you want to start a family in Canada or you’re looking to relocate the family you already have to this beautiful country, our immigration experts provide the exceptional support you deserve. We work closely with you or your family member to streamline the entire process as best we can and maximize your chances at a new life in Canada. You can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada if you’re at least 18 years old and a:
- Canadian citizen or
- a person registered as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or
- permanent resident of Canada
Our family class services include:
Spouse or Common-Law Partner Sponsorship
Eligible persons can sponsor their spouse, partner or dependent children to become permanent residents of Canada.
You must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- provide financial support
- ensure social assistance is not required from the government
- You can sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or dependent children.
Spouse: can be either sex and must be legally married to you and at least 18 years old.
Common-law partner: isn’t legally married to you, can be either sex, at least 18 years old and has been living with you for at least 12 consecutive months, without significant long periods apart. You are required to give proof of your common-law relationship.
Conjugal partner: isn’t legally married to you or in a common-law relationship with you, can be either sex is at least 18 years old, has been in a relationship with you for at least 1 year and lives outside Canada.
Dependent children
Dependent children must meet both of these requirements:
- under 22 years old
- Do not have a spouse or common-law partner
Children 22 years old or older qualify as dependants if they meet these two requirements:
- Unable to support themselves financially due to a mental or physical condition
- Depend on their parents for financial support before the age of 22
Your dependent child must continue to meet these requirements, except for age, until we finish processing your application.
